September 5, 2019

Every team has it’s own dynamics, but a quick google search and you’ll find numerous articles and reasons why developing the habit of sharing a simple greeting with your team can make a big difference.

  1. It’s basic manners
  2. It humanizes coworkers
  3. It’s welcoming
  4. It makes everyone feel valued
  5. It’s quick
  6. It’s free
  7. It reduces awkwardness
  8. You might cheer someone up

At our wisnet/Markey office, you’ll hear a mix of things:

“Good Morning!”
“Howdy.”
“How was your weekend?”
“Happy {insert day of week}!”
“HELLLLLOOOO!”
“Yo.”

But you’ll also see some of the following our digital signs too:

No excuses.

Sure, not everyone is a morning person, but stop making excuses. Don’t feel like you have to go over the top and fake it either.

A simple “hi” and smile can do wonders for you and your team. Do what feels authentic to you and fits your work life.
